SCRANTON, PA − January 20, 2026 − Senator Marty Flynn, in conjunction with members of the House of Representatives, announced today the approval of more than $5.7 million in CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund grants supporting infrastructure and streetscape projects across Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
The funding, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) will support transportation-related improvements including roadway upgrades, sidewalk replacements, lighting installation, and pedestrian safety enhancements.
“These CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund grants help move transportation projects forward in communities across the district. I’m proud to support funding that strengthens street, sidewalk, and roadway improvements while improving safety and access for residents,” said Senator Flynn.

- Dickson City Borough
Awarded: $450,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds on behalf of Lackawanna Executive Park Dickson, LCC for Phase III of the roadway safety improvements to the Main Street and Viewmont Drive intersection.
- Glenburn Township
Awarded: $250,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for streetscape improvements to the roadway and sidewalk along South Waterford Road.
- GLI Moosic, LLC
Awarded: $900,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for roadway improvements at the intersection of Birney and Springbrook Avenues to support local development of a gas station/convenience store in Moosic Borough
- Lackawanna County
Awarded: $850,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for roadway and pedestrian infrastructure improvements to North Main Avenue and Green Ridge Street.
- Scranton City
Awarded: $250,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for sidewalk and streetscape improvements along Penn Avenue and Capouse Avenue.
- South Abington Township
Awarded: $400,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds to improve West Grove Street and pedestrian access at Abington Heights High School.
- Taylor Borough
Awarded: $450,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for replacement of sidewalks, curbs, and street lighting along Main and Union Streets.
Luzerne County
- Avoca Borough
Awarded: $250,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for installation of street lighting along Main Street.
- City of Pittston
Awarded: $100,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for streetscape improvements on Plank Street.
- City of Wilkes-Barre
Awarded: $500,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for Phase II streetscape improvements along North Main Street.
- City of Wilkes-Barre
Awarded: $300,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds for Phase II streetscape improvements along South Main Street.
- Pittston Township
Awarded: $476,600 from the Multimodal Transportation Funds to make pavement improvements to multiple roads located in Pittston Township.
